Managing asset classes within your platform is essential for accurate equity management and strategic planning. This page provides detailed instructions for adding, changing, and removing asset classes, ensuring your company maintains flexibility and control over its equity structure.
Asset Classes Management Page
You first need to access the Asset Classes Management Page:
- From the left side main navigation menu select Company under the Management section
- Locate Asset Classes sections on the Company page
- The section contains table with information about each asset class:
- Name – name of the asset class, e.g., “My Equitshares”, “Common Stocks”
- Enabled – controls if the asset class operations are allowed, common and preferred stocks cannot be disabled
- Quantity – total quantity of the company’s asset class
- Actions – edit, delete
Adding New Asset Class
- Click Add Asset Class
- Fill the details about the asset class you want to create
- Name – name of the asset class. Tip: You do not need to suffix “equitshares” or “stocks” to the name. Depending of the type of the asset class it automatically will be suffixed to the name.
- Type – select the type: equitshares or stocks
- Quantity – total asset class quantity which will be available for the company
- Submit the form
Modifying Asset Class
From the actions column, select – edit.
Opens a form allowing you to change the name and the quantity of the asset class. Common and preferred stocks name cannot be changed.
Deleting Asset Class
From the actions column, select – delete.
❗If the asset class is being used, it may not be deleted. In this case consider only disabling it. Common and preferred stocks cannot be deleted.
